Main Street / Renaissance on Main Communities
Kentucky Main Street communities vary in size from populations of several hundred to metropolitan areas comprising hundreds of thousands. Our cities vary from small one city block in size to northern Kentucky where you have five Main Street communities inner connected along the Ohio River comprising a regional economic revitalization approach.
Kentucky has been the leader in addressing downtown needs since 1979 and strives to network our communities to provide the best resources available in preserving the historic infrastructure through revitalization. The additional efforts of the Governor's Office of Local Development and its Renaissance On Main program have proven to be the mix needed to meet the needs of our historic communities.
