Open Records Requests

To receive records maintained by and in the custody of the Kentucky Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet (TAHC), Kentucky Heritage Council, please submit your request in writing, identifying the specific records sought.

​TAH has five (5) business days from the date of receipt to respond to an open records request. If the documents requested are not available for release within five (5) days, a response will be provided informing the requestor of the approximate date on which the requested documents will be available for inspection.

NOTE ABOUT SURVEY INFORMATION

We are pleased to announce that through the online document storage/sharing platform Box, the Kentucky Heritage Council's E-Library is now available! 

This E-Library will help you conduct your own document search, eliminating wait time for requested documents, and allow you to conveniently navigate and search freely at your own pace. Available through the Box/E-Library subscription is access to Cultural-Historic Reports, Survey Forms, National Register Nominations and other useful documents used for background research.

Accommodations for Individuals with Disabilities

The Commonwealth of Kentucky provides, upon request, reasonable accommodations including auxiliary aids and services necessary to afford an individual with a disability an equal opportunity to participate in all services, programs and activities. To request materials in an alternative format, each agency web site provides information for contacting the person or persons responsible for providing the service within the agency. Persons with hearing and speech impairments can contact each agency by using the Kentucky Relay Service, a toll-free telecommunication device for the deaf (TDD). About Title IV

Title VI of the Federal Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibits any state agency receiving federal funds from denying access to a program on the basis of race, color or national origin.

State government agencies that receive federal funds must comply with state law by submitting Title VI reports. Agencies shall submit implementation plan updates to the Kentucky Office of the Auditor and the Kentucky Commission on Human Rights by July 1st of each year. Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet Title VI Implementation Plan.

Any individual or any special class of individuals that believe they have been subject to discrimination under Title VI because of action by the Kentucky Heritage Council may file an oral or written compliant through a representative or directly with the Kentucky Heritage Council Title VI Coordinator, Brittany May, c/o The Barstow House, 410 High Street, Frankfort, KY 40601, or call 502-564-7005, ext. 4469. 

The complaint should be filed within 30 days of the alleged discrimination.
