Archaeology in Education

This workshop is for teachers who are interested in learning how to engage students in history through archaeology. Our next workshop is scheduled for May 20-22, 2026.

Archaeology is a field based on science, culture, and history through the study of objects.

This two-and-a-half-day workshop introduces you to archaeology

  • What it is
  • How it's done
  • Who does it
  • Why we do it
  • How you can incorporate it into your educational programming

Professional archaeologists will demonstrate how you can apply archaeological concepts in a classroom or museum setting to teach a wide range of subjects using a hands-on approach to the study of objects.
